To Mary's Seven Sorrows, Add an Eighth:

The Seven Sorrows of Mary are the Prophecy of Simeon; the Flight into Egypt; the Loss of the Child Jesus; the Way of the Cross; the Crucifixion; the Reception of His Body; the Burial. Evidently, that's not enough for present-day Judases who continue offending her Immaculate Heart.

Yesterday, March 20th, the US Administration and apostates at the helm of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend announced that the President will accept an "honorary" degree and address the school as commencement speaker on May 17th. In an obvious attempt to avoid uproar from the Catholic faithful, South Bend and the White House waited until late Friday to float the announcement under the news radar.

If there are two names that never should appear in the same sentence, they are Our Lady's and that of the current anti-Catholic, anti-life president of the United States. Mary, the Model Disciple, the Ark of the Covenant, the Ultimate Pro-Lifer, stands in perfect opposition to the Father of Lies and his minion at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

It's obvious that this is yet another desperate attempt by dissidents to assert their fading influence. I need not elaborate on this overwhelming affront to the Mystical Body of Christ and the Holy Mother of God. In any case, I cannot find adequate words to express my outrage.

As Kathleen Gilbert at LifeSiteNews.com reminds us, "the United States of Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) approved a policy statement called 'Catholics in Political Life,' which says, with reference to pro-abortion politicians, 'They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.'"

Thank you for this comprehensive post on this disgrace. Fr James Farfaglia comments on his blog that since the trouble with the post-Vatican American Church began at Notre Dame we shouln't be surprised.
Not surprised, just disgusted.

I would think Bishop D'Arcy could put an end to this somehow. Apostates like Biden, Pelosi and Catholics for the Common Good are gonna make this a media circus. All with the assistance of others in the media, like Chris Matthews.

John-Bishop D'Arcy could end this, I believe-he issued a great press release today, btw, but this really belongs to the Cardinal Newman
Society, which is dedicated to renewing and strengthing Catholic universities. The CNS is careful about stepping on toes, unlike Fr. Jenkins.I truly believe God has worked good out of this evil. I have never seen Catholics so worked up, and working together for a common cause. How wonderful,on this Feast Day of Annunciation. I have the Bishop's press release- a beautiful piece of work. Please let me know if you have not seen it yet- I would be glad to send it to you. Pax!
